The Kernel Brewery Tasting with Founder Evin O'Riordain

There are very few breweries that can produce cult classics and bestsellers like The Kernel. Founded almost ten years ago to the day by Bermondsey Beer God Evin O’Riordain, they’re now a household name having helped spearhead the UK craft beer movement.

A decade later and they’re still at the front of the scene, with an ever-growing array of beers from hop-forward belters, to complex barrel aged saisons and historical, decadent stouts. In fact their omnipresence across London, and Europe from cornershop to craft beer festival has led a few to remark there are only three certainties in life: death, taxes, and The Kernel.

As such we can’t wait to welcome Head Brewer Evin to our tasting room for a reintroduction to the Kernel and a tutored tasting of six beers from across the spectrum, including a handful of incredibly rare releases.

Once a cheesemonger at their Covent Garden location himself, we’ll be pairing these alongside some of his favourites from Neal’s Yard Dairy.

Pouring on the night across Keg & Bottle will be:

-       Table Beer

-       Bière De Saison Finchcocks

-       Bière De Saison Small Damson Citra

-       Bière De Saison Apricot

-       Kernel IPA

-       Kernel Imperial Brown Stout

The tasting starts at 7:30pm & tickets are £20 which includes 10% off all Kernel takeaway beers and growler refills on the night. You can get them online or in any of our stores. This will be a seated event with places limited by our tasting room capacity and we expect it to run for an hour and a half to 2 hours.

We hope you can celebrate ten years of the Kernel with us!
