Well, here we are, back again, after far too long away! Since we last spoke we've had delightful drops from TrackNewbarns, Beak, Mash Gang and more but it's (sold) out of the old and in with the new.

Where better place to start than Deep Sounds, our first collab of '24, and our inaugural Gluten Free beer, cooked up with Lewes Legends ABYSS?! There's more on that below but suffice to say it's a crispy cracker we'll all be coming back for more of, and you should definitely join us TONIGHT in N4 to celebrate it's launch.

Next, we salute Siren's 11th Anniversary followed by a double header of some UK greats, specialising in juxtaposing hoppy goodness with Verdant and Burnt Mill. If that wasn't enough, we have a tiny US hop drop courtesy of Other HalfFinback and Equilibrium landing online.

Finally, a quick reminder that our next Sunday Roast from Sho Foo Doh down the Wood St Depot is THIS WEEKEND. Bookings are advised so pop us an email at info@claptoncraft.co.uk, or give us a call on 020 8616 1718 to secure your spot. Now, on with the show...

Of course, with our very own beer together out this week, our headliners just had to be ABYSS! A forward-thinking microbrewery born in the humble cellar of the Pelham arms in Lewes, 2016, their tireless effort has seen them rise the ranks in stature and acclaim, gaining a fervent fan base in the process.

Completing a Crowdfunder to help build a new brewery and taproom in October 2021, they've since massively increased their output, with another round of investment in January of this year enabling them to buy a state-of-the-art canning machine (of which our brew was one of the first through it's conveyor belt!).

Having worked with these pillars of the local Sussex scene for over three years, we hatched a plan to make the pilgrimage to the cliff-side coast to work on something we could call our own.

With their mastery across the style spectrum, it was a tough ask to nail down our choice, but we settled on a bright, Spring-ready West Coast Pale Ale, and our first ever GF beer at that to make it accessible to all in the collaborative spirit!

With an equal love for all things music, Deep Sounds is inspired by the SOFAR channel in the Pacific where the speed of sound is at its minimum and noise carries for miles without dissipating. Similarly, we hope this will leave good vibrations for some time to come.

Brewed with a lean malt base, a lethal combo of Citra, Chinook and Simcoe hops are allowed to shine with fleshy citrus, pithy grapefruit and orange flavour dominating, rounded off by a crushable, zingy, bitter-green finish. Designed for the deepest of refreshing depths, this is one bound for a supping reload.

Of course, we have a plentiful selection from ABYSS alongside varying across the shops, including the likes of zingy Table Beer Nano, Hazy IPA favourite Super Fuzz and piney fruit bomb Dank Marvin. Add to that crisp Pils Gonzo, brand new DDH Pale Equinox, the last of a pavlova pastry sour with Pastore, and even more means there's a lot to love!

We needn't remind you there's 10% off 6 or more online or double loyalty points in-store. Somewhat more importantly, the best place to soak up everything ABYSS is Finsbury Park tonight, where we have a Free Tasting, and Meet The Team event to debut our new baby with Yard Sale Pizza available to order in and good vibes aplenty. See you there.

Godfathers of Craft Beer in the UK, we can't quite believe Siren turn the grand old age of eleven this March! One of our own biggest supporters, and equally one of the first breweries we ever put in the fridge, they've truly changed the culture of independent drinking. And, to honour their big day, they've got four mega celebratory beers lined up for us.

Consequently, Oats On Oats: Anniversary Edition sees the comeback of a luscious and lauded DIPA with Sons & Daughters brewery. As to something dark and equally decadent, Black Mirror is a Birthday stout dialled up to 11 in the Siren way. Layered with rich Rio Caribe cacao and hand-toasted coconut, this inky, wafer-y wonder is something to behold.

One for the purists, Times Eleven is a Helles-style Lager brewed 121 days before their celebration, allowing the utmost time in tank for pristine conditioning. Finally, the yearly Barley Wine treat Maiden is back with a unique new blend, taste it to believe it.

A huge cheers to these absolute titans, and here's to eleven more years!

We've been long overdue some juicy joy from Verd-ANT so we hope to right that wrong with five freshies this time around. In fine supply we have the citric smasher and just how is this 3.4% SIPA People Money Space Time alongside fellow core range classics Lightbulb and Sundialer.

Brewed with Florida's Civil Society, IPA Written In Water returns to much fanfare. Featuring some of their favourite hop varieties, this offers lashings of pungent mango, and gooseberry flavour with just a hint of the insane pina-colada Sabro sneaking in.

All Mosaic-IPA and the aptly titled It's Pronounced Verdant also makes a comeback. Here, sweaty (in a good way), stanky pineapple and blueberry dominate with a creamy caramel base helping support that luxurious umami tinge. As you well know, this quintet won't hang around!

Suffolk superstars Burnt Mill are pretty underrated by most expert's standards, though you all seem to be a step ahead of the crowd as they've steadily risen to become one of our top-selling UK breweries. As such, we're delighted to keep the good times coming, with another four-some of frothy firepower heading your way!

Bracing Gluten Free greats Beyond The Firs and Helles are all present and correct, while there are a duo of newcomers to keep things even more interesting.

Mountain Pale Cool Heights is named for its bridging of East and West Coast styles and is brewed with two Japanese outfits, West Coast Brewing and Be Easy. A soft, creamy malt bill is then hopped aggressively with six different varietals for sharp citrus fruits, and piney vibes.

Teaming up with a brewery slightly closer to home in Lost & Grounded, Cold Thaw is their annual release together, which this time takes the form of the underrated Cold IPA. Using L&G's house Lager yeast alongside a crisp, clean mouthfeel, dank hops are allowed to shine vibrantly.

We hope you enjoy another Burnt Mill bevy, no doubt we will too...

We've had some absolutely outrageous drops on our Webshop from our nearest and dearest recently, but we're never going to turn our noses up at a tiny slice of NYC magic.

We'll let the beers do the talking (for once) but an IPA, DIPA (with Other Half) and a classic Imperial Pastry Stout from Finback is about as good as it gets. While, EQ have two DIPAs, including a collab with fellow US  limelights Trillium.

If you can believe it, we also have eight (!) hoppy heavyweights from the aforementioned Brooklyn dons, Other Half. Don't say we don't treat you, though they're here for a good time, not a long time...

A word of warning, the next Free Collection date in-store outside of Wood St will be April 5th with that pesky Easter Break in mind. Don't worry though we'll keep them nice and chilled in the cold store or can send them straight to your home with Free Delivery over £60!

Thanks for having us back & we hope you enjoy this week's treats! - Team CC
